Dermapen treatment or micro needling used for skin rejuvenation that by a pen with a cluster of needles at the tip. The slight injury they cause stimulates the growth of collagen, the scaffolding under the skin, which then improves the appearance of some scars and wrinkles. The technique works great for sunken areas on the skin caused by acne, but not for deep, narrow “ice pick” scars.

Dermapen treatment creates visible results with no downtime. The skin needling treatment helps reduce ageing lines, scars, stretch marks and skin concerns.
This type of skin treatment stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating visible results with minimal downtime.  Dermapen treatmentcan help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, scars, stretch marks and other skin concerns.

The idea behind Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is similar to that of many other non-surgical skin-tightening procedures in that it aims to create a controlled injury underneath the skin’s surface, thereby inducing the body to respond through the formation of new tissue layers of elastin – and collagen fibres (neo-collagenesis) as well as new capillaries for an improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis) in the treated area.

The skin plumps and thickens in response to this stimulus, ultimately reducing the appearance of scars, and fine lines and other skin texture changes. In addition to CIT, the channels made from the micro-needles allow topical gels and creams to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer of skin.

What are the effects of  dermapen treatment  on the skin?

Dermapen treatment improves the skin by improving thickness of the dermis as well as the epidermis. This in return improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. It can also have a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation.

Disfiguring scars, especially acne scars, can many times also be improved. New collagen fibres elevate any depressed scar tissue. An improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis) into the previous fibrotic scar tissue also harmonizes and blends the pigmentation with the periphery skin.

How does dermapen treatment compare with other skin treatments?

As already mentioned, dermapen treatment is a non-ablative treatment i.e does not remove the top layer of skin. Alternatives are the ablative skin treatments such as lasers, chemical peels and derm abrasions which do remove the top layer of skin and subsequently have more down time and associated side effects and possible risks.

However, in situations where the top layer of skin is more obviously affected with more severe changes in color, wrinkles and quality of skin, then ablative treatments may be indicated and preferred over non ablative skin treatments.

What areas of the body and face can I do?

Unlike ablative procedures which are mainly used for facial skin, the Medical Micro needling can be used on all skin parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, leg) and face

How Is The Procedure Done?

A sterile cartridge containing 12 tiny micro-points is attached to the Dermapen. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical gel to your skin and select the appropriate treatment setting based on your unique needs.

Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding until the entire treatment area has been covered. This process results in thousands of superficial microscopic channels throughout the entire treatment area.

How Is Dermapen Different From Dermal Needling Rollers?

Automated micro-needling devices move in a vertical direction for better precision when treating the skin. Unlike Automated Micro-needling the roller does not create a precise vertical action.

The lack of precision can contribute to greater discomfort and inconsistent effects to the skin.

 Dermapen treatment cost?

This is discussed during a free consultation. A treatment is put together for each client, at which point cost is discussed. Treatment decisions are based on each patient’s individual needs and desired results. Medical micro-needling can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as PRP( Platelet Rich Plasma) or meso needling.

How Is Dermapen Different From Laser?

Unlike lasers, Dermapen breaks up pigment mechanically and stimulates the collagen formation without heat. Removing heat from the equation makes for a safer, more comfortable treatment with a very low complication rate.

No heat also equals less downtime! Most Eclipse Dermapen patients are red for 24 hours or less. That advantage means you can get the procedure performed on a Friday and be back to normal for work on Monday.
