Hair removal lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas. Hair removal laser is a treatment that uses lasers to target the roots of hair beneath the surface of the skin. Though it’s not guaranteed to be permanent, a majority do experience permanent hair removal after a series of treatments. There’s a variety of lasers on the market, some more effective than others on certain skin tones, hair colors, and treatment areas. Laser hair removal can be performed at home by home laser devices  or at laser clinic.

Home laser

There are home laser hair removal devices that have been approved by the FDA with low energy level to prevent side effects.

Some devices emit 808 nm  wavelength  similar to Diode lasers  and others emit a wide spectrum wavelength similar to  IPL  system. The lasers used for laser hair removal generate a significant amount of heat, which is why a special cooling device,  is used to cool the skin.

Additionally, the laser energy is so powerful that both providers and clients must wear protective eye-wear.Home laser devices are more affordable than laser hair removal at  physician’s office. Reading the manual is essential  to make sure it is safe for skin color and prevent adverse effects on vision and skin. Due to low energy level it is recommended to  treating the desired area once every two weeks, and to expect up to a 60 percent reduction in hair growth three weeks after the first treatment, with more modest reduction thereafter.

What is tria hair removal laser?

Tria hair removal FDA-cleared laser available for at-home use , designed to work on fair to medium skin tones with contrasting light brown to black body hair. Tria Laser  gets to work immediately. The diode laser targets the pigment in the hair follicle to permanently disable the hair follicle’s ability to regrow hair, without damaging the surrounding skin.  It is easy to hold, but is top-heavy and looks like a space-age  microphone. There are five intensity settings. According to the manual, it should take about 100 pulses to laser one underarm. The device has a handy display, which counts down the pulses. It is recommended the following number of pulses for particular parts of the body:

  • Upper lip – 25 pulses over 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Underarms – 100 pulses per side over 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Bikini line – 200 pulses per side over 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Upper leg – 600 pulses per side over 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Below knee – 600 pulses per side over 25 to 30 minutes.

Tria laser side effects

The laser in the Tria device is not as strong as the laser machine. However, that doesn’t mean it can’t get the job done.  It’s the same as diode laser technology , only a bit weaker. The coverage area of the laser functionality is small- about the size of a quarter.  That’s for precision control , this is a laser.  It’s burning parts of your body.

There’s no getting around the fact that while totally effective, this is not a sensation-free experience.  It’s not pain-free in the doctor’s office either.  In fact, because of the first point we made about the Tria (it’s not as strong as what doctors use), this product actually hurts less than what you’d experience with a professional treatment.

Tria  hair removal laser cost

In comparison with traditional  lasers there is NO on-going costs, no cartridge replacement costs, you don’t need to keep buying replacement laser hair removal cartridges ever, and in long term worth it.
