RF Skin Tightening vs HIFU❤

What is RF Skin Tightening?

RF skin tightening uses Radio Frequency waves (electromagnetic waves at wavelengths of between 1Km and 1cm) in administration of treatments such as blemish removal, skin rejuvenation. An RF Machine is used mainly for administering skin tightening treatments for people suffering from sagging skin.

Does RF skin tightening work?

Sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines are common issues that stem from genetics or photodamage caused by exposure to the sun. Over time, collagen and elastin, two components present within your skin, break down and cause your skin to lose its elasticity.

During a radio frequency (RF) skin tightening procedure, heat is used to encourage the production of new collagen and elastin. The renewed production of these components helps to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, and tightens skin.

How long does RF facial last?

The effects of radiofrequency treatments will continue to improve over the next few months as the skin produces new collagen. Results typically last for a minimum of six months, although with ongoing treatments, results are often long-lasting.

How often can you do RF on your face?

For FotoFacial RF treatments, you can safely have a treatment appointment once every three to four weeks during your initial round of treatments.

Post-treatment care

It is normal to notice mild redness in the area after the treatment. The area may also feel a little tender. This is nothing to worry about, and will generally fade within a few days. Please follow the aftercare instructions below, which will help you to get the best results:

Avoid hot environments such as saunas, steam rooms and hot showers for a minimum of 72 hours after the treatment. If you have a bath or a shower, use warm water.

Do not undergo any heat treatment for at least a few days, as this may make the area feel sore.

When will you see results?

It is important to note that results vary from person to person, and the results that you see will depend on your body and the number of treatments you have had. Typically, our clients notice results in the first few weeks following the treatment.

Rf skin tightening vs hifu

All two result in skin tightening , however RF treatment focus energy on the surface of the skin, whereas Ultherapy targets deep below the skin (3 mm and 4.5 mm beneath the surface). Treating the deeper layers of skin means your body will be lifting and tightening from the inside out, which may help you to achieve better results.

Radiofrequency uses energy to stimulate collagen and elastin production, but the heat energy is electrical rather than mechanical based in Hifu devices.

So to summarize, Ultherapy has the benefit of being a one-time treatment, and of targeting deeper tissue. RF is very comfortable and can be repeated at weekly intervals, but targets the skin (more superficial tissue). Most patients can benefit from combining treatments, but may choose one over the other based on the condition of the skin and goals after treatment.
