How long after botox can I sleep?

It is recommended to not lay down for 4 hours after botox injection , because lying flat or bending over might make the Botox shift via gravity to orbital cavity and ophthalmologic side effects such as droopy eyelids or diplopia occur. Moreover, laying down makes the veins in  the head and neck become engorged and causes more swelling and bruising soon after injection.

How long after Botox can I fly?

It is safe to travel immediately after  Botox injection , however  pressure differential in the cabin  might increase bruising and swelling in the injected area , Moreover  stooping to pick up a piece of luggage during the first  hours or lying down during flight  might cause the Botox to diffuse into surrounding tissues and causes unwanted side effects, So it is wise to do treatment at least 24 hours before departure.

How long after Botox can I exercise?

It is recommended a break from strenuous  exercises on the same day that the injections were performed.  Because such activities increase blood pressure and then blood circulation, so Botox diffusion to surrounding structures might occurs. During first hours after injection,  Botox  migrate into cells and settle  in the area where it was injected  so waiting 24 hours  prevent side effects and  create a better outcome.

How long after Botox can I wash my face?

Post Botox or dysport treatment, gentle washing with cold or tepid water is ok, but long hot shower or time in the sauna may cause flushing and enhance  blood circulation in the area that might increase bruising and swelling in the injected area.

How long after Botox can I get a facial?

Some facials can be irritating and can cause some modest vasodilation that could possibly make it more likely to bruise, there is no problem to get a facial treatment 2 days post  botox treatment , as long as there isn’t excess tenderness, bruising or lumpiness in the treated areas.

How long after Botox can I have a glass of wine?

Alcohol consumption increases blood circulation in the skin and makes skin flushed and hot, this will increase the chance of bruising and Botox diffusion to surrounding tissues. Generally,  alcohol consumption avoidance is recommended  for 48 hours after treatment to prevent swelling and bruising and unwanted side effects  in the treatment area.

How long after Botox can you get pregnant?

It is not recommended to be getting Botox injections while pregnant, breast feeding, or trying to get pregnant. It is recommended waiting for the Botox to wear off before trying to get pregnant.  There is no way to know for sure if all the Botox is out of body.  Typically Botox effects last about 4 months so it is best to wait 4 months after having Botox before trying to get pregnant.
